John grew up in Powhatan and Chesterfield Counties and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.A. in History. After college, he attended law school at Washington and Lee University. John lives in Powhatan with his wife and daughter. When not working, he enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling with his family, and watching football.
Experience
John has earned numerous professional honors and recognitions throughout his career, including:
- Selected as a Super Lawyer each year in the field of personal injury from 2015–2026. This designation is awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state. The SuperLawyers selection process takes into account peer recognition, professional achievement in legal practice, and other cogent factors.
- Prior to being selected as a Super Lawyer, John was selected as a Rising Star in 2008 and again in 2011.

John has had a number of verdicts and settlements ranked in Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s annual list of the largest verdicts and settlement of the year, including the 6th largest settlement in Virginia in 2016 and the 7th largest settlement in 2020.
